“The Institutional Research (IR) office at Stone Child College (SCC) plays a vital role in supporting the college’s mission to provide quality education rooted in the Chippewa Cree culture and community. Our office collects, analyzes, and reports important data about student enrollment, retention, graduation rates, and academic success to help SCC make informed decisions that benefit students, faculty, and the community.
IR helps SCC leaders and educators understand student needs by tracking trends in enrollment, academic performance, and program effectiveness. This information guides efforts to improve student support services, enhance learning opportunities, and strengthen the college’s academic programs.
Additionally, IR ensures that SCC meets accreditation and compliance requirements by providing accurate data for federal, state, and tribal reporting. We also support the calculation of the Indian Student Count (ISC), which directly impacts funding for the college and helps ensure continued access to higher education for Native students.
Our goal is to use data to support student success, promote institutional growth, and uphold SCC’s commitment to serving our community. We believe that strong research leads to strong decision-making, ultimately improving the educational experience for all students at SCC.”
