The new Stone Child College is located on Upper Box Elder Road between Rocky Boy Agency and Box Elder, Montana. Our contiguous campus is made up of more than ten buildings.
Kennewash Hall is the main building on campus. Named at a Christmas dedication in honor of Chief Kennewash, an original tribal member and early supporter of education who helped build the first school in Rocky Boy. The Kennewash Hall houses classrooms, faculty offices, Student Support Services, Financial Aid, Registrar/Admissions and Administration offices.
"Sitting Old Woman" Center is located to the east of Kennewash Hall and named in honor of Stone Child College's late President Maragret "Peggy" Nagel, who journeyed to the spirit world in December of 1994. Her given Indian name was "Sitting Old Woman", given to her by Mr. Joe Roan of Hobbema, Canada, and is considered a name of great honor because the wisdom of the elders could be seen in her eyes, even though she was only a girl. The center houses the library, bookstore, computer lab, Business Office, and various department programs.
The Jon "Cubby" Morsette Vocational Center Building is one of the newest editions to the campus. It houses the carpentry program, and fine arts programs. It also serves as host to numerous campus and community events.
Other buildings include the Little Bear Gymnasium, Cafeteria, and Maintenance buildings. The campus also houses a community food bank located in the old day care building. Stone Child College also operates a Child Care Center, and is located at the West end of the campus.
